Prof. Keat Ong is a multidisciplinary designer. A celebrated and award-winning creative leader, he is the Founder and Chairman of Nota Design Group, Design Principal of Keat Ong Design, and Co-founder of SCKD Pte Ltd.

 

Keat served three consecutive terms (2015–2022) as President of the Society of Interior Designers, Singapore (SIDS), where he championed the advancement and professional recognition of the interior design industry. He also established and chaired the Singapore Interior Design Accreditation Council (SIDAC) from 2021 to 2023, which oversees national competency and accreditation standards for interior design practitioners in Singapore.

 

From 2021 to 2025, Keat served 2 terms as President of the Asia Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA), an alliance of 16 national-level professional bodies across the region. During his leadership, he initiated the Asia Pacific Interior Designers Accreditation Program (AP-ID-AP) and the APSDA Awards, both instrumental in elevating practice standards and fostering cross-border collaboration in the Asia-Pacific design community.

 

Keat’s outstanding contributions have earned him numerous honours, including Asia’s Top Designers (Singapore Design Awards 2014) and Designer of the Year (2016/2017) by the internationally renowned INTERIOR DESIGN magazine. In 2017, he was named “The Most Influential Designer” by the China Building Decoration Association, China’s national interior design authority.

 

An influential educator, Keat serves as an Adjunct and Visiting Professor at eight universities, including the China Academy of Art and Taylor’s University, and frequently sits on juries for major international design awards.

 

In 2023, he was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor by SIDS. In 2025, he was recognized among the “10 Most Influential Figures in Asia for Built Environment Design” by the Asia Designers Directory.

 

Keat is also the author of Injecting Architecture, his second book, which articulates his original design methodology through a curated collection of his signature projects.
